About Our Kansas City, Missouri Moving Services
Roger Lee Ward III and his wife, Dana, founders of Great Day Moving, are no strangers to hard work and dedication. As military veterans, they understand the demands of relocation and are committed to hiring and training movers who take pride in quality service. Due to Roger’s service-disabled veteran status, Great Day Moving is certified by the Center for Veterans Enterprise as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).
Moving Service With Local Roots
Before building the Great Day Moving franchise model, the Wards purchased a local moving company, Marathon Moving and Delivery LLC (MMD). After acquiring MMD, they strengthened operations by building infrastructure, improving accountability, and implementing systems designed to help moving services run efficiently. MMD became the first Great Day Moving franchise serving the Johnson County, Kansas area, with additional locations established over time. The Great Day Moving franchise system is a veteran-owned company.

In May 2011, Roger was honored with the Small Business Administration’s 2011 Region VII Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
